He started his television journey by appearing at WBES-TV during its three short months of operation in 1953. 

Later he relocated to Buffalo and joined WBEN (AM) radio. 

He hosted the famous American show “The Superman Show,” where he worked himself as Captain Tom, who later became known as Commander Tom. 

These segments were aired in conjunction with Adventures of Superman, eventually leading to the development of The Commander Tom Show, which remained on the air in various formats for an impressive 26 years.

Furthermore, he also hosted “The Weather Outside,” where he used to report on weather conditions.
