David Carl “Davey” Allison (February 25, 1961 – July 13, 1993) was an American racing driver who competed in the NASCAR series. Most people were familiar with him from his time as the driver of the #28 Texaco-Havoline Ford for Robert Yates Racing in the Winston Cup Series. Having been born in Hollywood, Florida, to Bobby Allison and his wife Judy, he was the oldest of their four children. The Allison family relocated to Hueytown, Alabama, where they joined forces with Bobby’s brother Donnie Allison, family friend Red Farmer, and Neil Bonnett to form the Alabama Gang, which became well-known in the racing world.
