Tony Khan Comments On Streaks Ending For The Undertaker And John Cena

August 2024 · 2 minute read

It seems that Tony Khan isn’t ready to let Tuesday night go just yet.

AEW Dynamite was moved to Tuesday night this week by TBS due to the MLB Playoffs. This put Tony Khan’s show head-to-head with WWE NXT.

NXT won the night by a .04 margin in the 18-49 demo. While sources we’ve spoken to within Warner Bros Discovery are happy with the number, it appears Khan is less than thrilled with what took place this week.

Khan took to social media this morning to point out that Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT was the first time either John Cena or The Undertaker appeared on a WWE show that garnered less than 1 million total viewers, tweeting out:

“This week, 2 active decades-long ratings streaks from 2 great legends were ended With all due respect, until this week’s head-to-head AEW on TBS vs WWE on USA, neither John Cena nor Undertaker had ever been on a WWE show with under 1 million total viewers + under 400k in the demo,” Tony Khan said in a post.

AEW Dynamite will return to Wednesdays starting next week. It doesn’t appear the show will be moved again throughout the duration of the MLB Playoffs.
